
His great-great-grandfather was a samurai who had been ordered by his feudal lord and dispatched as one of coastguardsmen against the Perry fleet at the end of 19th century. Relying on his ancient sword and armor, this man went a long way to Edo (now Tokyo).
During World War II, the author's father and one of uncles were conscripted and became respectively an artilleryman of Army and an airman of Navy. Both fought against the USA. They fortunately survived anyhow without killing or torturing any enemy.
Educated at Musashino Art University, he now lives in Mima, Tokushima as an illustrator. This book is his maiden work.
